SPOTMYUV DETECTION STICKERS
October 2017
The original SPOT was hyper focused on being a children’s product. With every sunburn as a child doubling the risk of skin cancer as an adult, protecting children from sunburn was where we felt we could make the biggest impact.
January 2018
We began a sample program in Australia and shipped these wallet 4 packs to over 500 customers over their summer. The feedback we received was invaluable as we tuned our messaging as well as our product’s performance.
June 2018
Summer 2018 was filled with exhaustive consumer testing through focus groups and sampling programs. We tried multiple types of packaging and messaging before landing on our final consumer product to be released – SPOTMYUV.
January 2018
Thanks to our extensive user testing, we matured the brand to focus on mothers and beauty. We positioned SPOT to be useful to both mother and child as well as to be seen as a trusted product when it comes to sun protection. We leaned into our purple color change and created the overlapping circle logo to reflect the transition of the states of our sticker. We also made the packaging more functional as a small waterproof bag can be slipped into any purse, diaper bag, or beach bag.
North America Summer Launch – June 2019
After our successful Australian summer launch, we evolved the product and the brand one more step with all the feedback we received from real paying customers. We made the sticker smaller for a lower profile while using, and also made the packaging smaller to fit in more bags and purses for carry. We also improved our messaging to avoid confusion with how the product works.
